Viktor Pfeifer

Viktor Pfeifer (born May 16, 1987 in Graz , Styria ) is an Austrian figure skater who starts in a single run .

Career

Pfeifer, whose family moved to Feldkirch ( Vorarlberg ) when he was one year old , began figure skating at the age of nine. He also started playing the cello as a child and attended a music conservatory before he decided to go figure skating. He won all Austrian championship titles: pupil, twice youth, three times juniors and at the age of 15 the first state championship in the general class. Seven more titles followed in the years 2005 to 2006 and 2009 to 2013.

At the age of 17, Pfeifer made his international debut at World and European Championships in 2005, finishing in 23rd and 18th place respectively. At the Junior World Championships in the same year he was twelfth.

In 2006 Pfeifer was nominated as the youngest athlete in the Austrian team for the 2006 Winter Olympics in Turin . In his Olympic debut, he finished 22nd. He finished his second Olympic Games in 2010 in Vancouver in 21st place.

At the 2013 European Championships , Pfeifer achieved his best result at the European Championships with eighth place . He also improved his personal best to 194.77 points.

Pfeifer has been training at Priscilla Hill in Newark , Delaware since 2006 and is studying business administration in Wilmington .
