Peter Jonas (born June 18, 1941 in Vienna ) is a former Austrian figure skater and figure skating coach.

The four-time Austrian champion took part in nine European championships , six world championships and two Olympic Games between 1957 and 1965 . His greatest success as an individual runner was winning the bronze medal at the European Championships in Moscow in 1965 . His best result at world championships was sixth place in Cortina d'Ampezzo in 1963 and his best result at the Olympic Games was seventh place in 1964 in Innsbruck .

After his active career, Jonas worked as a trainer mainly in Dortmund , Oberstdorf and Vienna . Well-known German athletes he supervised were Patricia Neske , Simone Lang , Astrid Hochstetter , Sarah Jentgens and Tanja Szewczenko .
