Mary Tamm

Mary Tamm (born March 22, 1950 in Dewsbury , West Yorkshire , England , † July 26, 2012 in London ) was a British actress .

Life

Tamm graduated from London's Royal Academy of Dramatic Art , of which she later became a member. She made her debut at a theater in Birmingham in 1971 and moved back to London a year later.

Tamm got her first television role in an episode of the British television series Hunter's Walk from 1973. In the thriller The Odessa Files (1974), she played one of the larger roles alongside Jon Voight and Maximilian Schell . She also played a bigger role in the comedy Two Nice Fruits (1976).

In 1978 and 1979 she appeared in 26 episodes of the television series Doctor Who . In later years she was seen, also in a larger role, in the BBC television series Paradise Heights (2002) as well as in guest roles in numerous other television series.

Tamm died in July 2012 after a long period of cancer. She had been married since 1978 and had one daughter.
