List of Olympic champions in equestrian sport
The list of Olympic champions in equestrian sport includes all winners as well as the second and third placed equestrian competitions at the Olympic Summer Games , broken down according to the individual competitions. In the further part, all Olympic medalists are listed who have at least two gold medals. The individual nation ratings conclude.
Since the women, who were first eligible to start in 1952, have always competed together with men (both in the individual and in the team disciplines), there is no division by gender. The names of the horses are given in brackets after the names of the riders.
No gold medals were awarded at the 1900 Olympic Games . The winner received a silver, the second a bronze medal, the third received nothing. However, the current scheme is used in the list so that all results can be compared with one another.

annotation
- ↑ Ludger Beerbaum did not receive a medal. For medical reasons, his horse Goldfever had been treated with an ointment containing a substance that is considered an illicit medication. Beerbaum's result was not included in the evaluation, so that the German team dropped from first to third place.
