Timothy Grubb

Timothy John "Tim" Grubb (born May 30, 1954 in Grantham , Lincolnshire , † May 11, 2010 in Illinois ) was a British show jumper .

biography

Grubb began his riding career in sporting a pony club and later for 18 months as a jockey at Steeplechase races worked before he joined the show jumping devoted.

During his sporting career he took part in two Summer Olympics as a show jumper .

At the 1984 Summer Olympics in Los Angeles , he won in riding competitions on his horse "Linky" with Michael Whitaker , John Whitaker and Steven Smith in the team after the USA the silver medal in show jumping and had his greatest sporting success.

Most recently he took part in the 1992 Summer Olympics in Barcelona .

Then Grubb, who had been married to the American show jumper Michele McEvoy since 1978 , went to the USA and took on the US citizenship . There, too, he continued his equestrian career and won the American Grand Prix Association Championship as well as the AGA Horse of the Year title with “Denizen” in 1993. In 1994 he took part in the World Equestrian Games in The Hague with the US team . In addition, he won several Grand Prix in the USA such as the American Invitational, the Devon Horse Show and the Hampton Classic Horse Show.

After his active career, he worked as a horse dealer in California . His divorced marriage to Michele McEvoy resulted in his son Christopher and daughter Dottie Grubb, who won the FEI World Children's Jumper Championship in 2000.

Timothy Grubb died on May 11, 2010 of sudden heart failure .
