Ralf Ehrenbrink

Ralf Ehrenbrink (born August 29, 1960 in Bielefeld ) is a former German eventing rider who became Olympic champion with the team in 1988.

Life

Ehrenbrink won the 1978 German Junior Championship and won the European Junior Championship with the German team. In 1981 he won the German Young Rider Championship. In 1983 he finished second behind Claus Erhorn in the German championship. Ehrenbrink never won the German championship, but took second place again in 1985, 1988 and 1995.

In 1985 he and the German team won the bronze medal at the European Championship , two years later the German team took second place. At the Olympic Games in 1988 he was eliminated from Uncle Todd before the final jumping. In the team competition erritten Matthias Baumann , Claus Erhorn, Thies Kaspareit and Ralf Ehrenbrink the gold medal. After 1936, this was the second team victory of the German eventing team at the Olympic Games.

At the 1992 Olympic Games in Barcelona Ehrenbrink took part on Kildare and finished eleventh in the individual ranking. In the team competition, Australia won ahead of New Zealand, together with Matthias Baumann, Herbert Blöcker and Cord Mysegaes Ehrenbrink won the bronze medal.

For this he and the German team received the Silver Laurel Leaf on June 23, 1993.

The German team also won bronze at the 1994 World Cup in The Hague, except for Ehrenbrink with Kildare , Cord Mysegaes, Bettina Overesch and Peter Thomsen were part of this team. After finishing fourth at the European Championships in 1995, Ehrenbrink and the German team took ninth place in the team classification at the 1996 Olympic Games .

Ehrenbrink began his career at the Warendorf riding club and trained as a master horse manager. After the 1992 Olympic Games, he moved to the Krefeld riding and driving club .
