Cord Mysegaes

Cord Hermann Mysegaes (born March 22, 1968 in Delmenhorst ) is a German eventing rider who became an Olympic knight with the team in 1992.

Mysegaes was initially trained by his father (Wilfried Mysegaes). When Cord Mysegaes was 16 years old, Horst Karsten took over the training. In 1985 he won team bronze and 1987 team gold at the European Junior Championships. At the German Championships in 1992, Cord Mysegaes (who rode for the Heiligenrode Riding Club at this time) took second place on Ricardo behind Matthias Baumann and was appointed to the team for the Olympic Games in Barcelona . There he took 13th place in the individual competition with Ricardo and won the bronze medal behind the teams from Australia and New Zealand in the team competition with Herbert Blöcker , Ralf Ehrenbrink and Matthias Baumann.

For this he and his team received the Silver Laurel Leaf on June 23, 1993.

In 1994 Mysegaes won the German Championships. At the 1994 World Championships in The Hague, together with Ralf Ehrenbrink, Bettina Overesch and Peter Thomsen, he received the bronze medal behind the British and French. 1996 Mysegaes ended his competitive sports career after an injury.

In his free time, Mysegaes continues to ride, he competes in eventing up to the CIC 3 * . He continues to train regularly with Horst Karsten.

Cord Mysegaes is a teacher of art, mathematics and sports at the Bassum Oberschule.
