Harry Klugmann

Harry Klugmann (born October 28, 1940 in Stolp ) is a former German eventing rider who won the Olympic bronze medal with the team in 1972.

Harry Klugmann started for the Greven riding and driving club . The German champion of the year 1971, with the eleven-year-old gelding Christopher Robert, was early on for the German team at the 1972 Olympic Games . In ninth place in the individual ranking, Klugmann was the best German in Munich. Together with Lutz Goessing , Karl Schultz and Horst Karsten , Klugmann received the bronze medal behind the teams from the United Kingdom and the United States in the team competition. In 1979 Klugmann won his second championship title, in 1977 behind Horst Karsten and in 1978 and 1980 behind Otto Ammermann , Klugmann took second place in the German championship. In 1978 Klugmann won the silver medal at the World Championships in Lexington together with Helmut Rethemeier , Otto Ammermann and Herbert Blöcker on Verberot .

Klugmann missed the 1980 Olympic Games because of the Olympic boycott . At the alternative festival in Fontainebleau , he won the team silver medal with Veberod .

For winning the bronze medal in 1972, he received the silver bay leaf on September 11, 1972.
