Phillip Peter Dutton , OAM , (born September 13, 1963 in Nyngan , New South Wales ) is an Australian eventing rider , farmer and two-time Olympic champion who has competed for the USA since 2006 .

Live and act

The farmer's son learned to ride on his parents' farm. He received his middle school education in Sydney and later graduated in agronomy . In 1991 he settled in the United States to face greater competition in competitive riding. At the 1996 Olympic Games in Atlanta , he and his horse True Blue Girdwood were part of the Australian team that won the gold medal. He repeated this success four years later in Sydney (on House Doctor ).

In 1998 and 2000 to 2007 Dutton was voted Rider of the Year by the American Association of Eventing Riders, and in 2005 the World Equestrian Federation FEI selected him as the world 's best rider of the year. In 2006, Dutton announced that he had accepted American citizenship. Since then, he has also competed in sport for the United States and in the same year played his first championship for the United States at the 2006 World Equestrian Games . In 2007 he competed for the USA for the first time at the Rolex Kentucky Three Day , in the same year he won the gold medal in the team competition at the Pan American Games in Rio de Janeiro (on Truluck ). In 2008 he had his first victory at the Rolex Kentucky Three Day.

Phillip Dutton competed in all Olympic Games from 1996 to 2016, and he also took part in all World Equestrian Games from 1994 to 2014. With Mighty Nice he won the bronze medal in the individual ranking at the 2016 Summer Olympics in Rio de Janeiro, while the team burst due to the elimination of two riders in the area. So Dutton won two individual medals of his career in the Deodoro riding stadium .

Dutton lives with his wife and three daughters in Avondale , Pennsylvania, and runs a farm.
