Sven Rothenberger

Sven-Günter Rothenberger (born June 1, 1966 in Frankfurt am Main ) is a German and Dutch entrepreneur and former dressage rider .

Life

Sven Rothenberger attended the Humboldt School in Bad Homburg vor der Höhe . After graduating from high school and training as a wholesale and foreign trade clerk, he studied business administration .

In equestrian sports (his father Günther had acquired the Erlenhof stud farm ) he initially competed for Germany. In 1990 he and Andiamo became the first German to win the World Cup . For family reasons, he moved to the Netherlands in 1994 to ride in a team with his wife Gonnelien . In 1996 in Atlanta , they were the first couple to win a silver medal at the Olympic Games together .

The children together are also active in equestrian sports. Daughter Sanneke Rothenberger won medals in the age classes of pony riders, juniors and young riders at the German and European championships for dressage riders. The almost two years younger son Sönke Rothenberger also won medals as a pony rider and young rider at German and European championships for dressage riders, and also competes in jumping competitions up to advanced level. Both start in sport for Germany.

At the 2010 World Equestrian Games , Rothenberger was a co-commentator on the dressage broadcasts on Eurosport .

  • 2005: Vice European team champion on Barclay in Hagen

Activity as an entrepreneur

Rothenberger is a board member of aaa Aktiengesellschaft general asset management in Frankfurt am Main and Diskus Werke AG . He also acquired the Melita vinegar factory in 2010.
