Uwe Schulten-Baumer

Uwe Schulten-Baumer (born August 6, 1954 in Mülheim an der Ruhr ), also called Uwe Schulten-Baumer junior , is a former German dressage rider .

Life

Schulten-Baumer comes from an equestrian family, his father is the well-known dressage trainer Dr. Uwe Schulten-Baumer (senior) , his sister, the multiple German dressage runner-up Alexa Schulten-Baumer , and his stepsister is the German dressage rider Ellen Schulten-Baumer .

He studied medicine and became a specialist in internal medicine (especially gastroenterology and diabetology ) and palliative medicine . Today he is the chief physician at the Eggenfelden District Hospital.

In his riding career in 1978 he was world champion with the team and second in the individual ranking. He was also European champion six times . In 1980 he missed the Olympic Games due to the boycott , but won at the replacement Goodwood International Dressage Festival with Slivovitz individual silver and team gold.

In 1988 he acquired the Hanoverian gelding Gigolo , but due to his work as a doctor, he no longer had enough time for its athletic training. So he gave Gigolo to his father, who made it available to his pupil Isabell Werth .
