criticism

The Austrian news magazine “ News ” reported in its April 26th 2012 edition of the allegation that “association money was wasted and the 2010 balance sheet had been improved.” In her role as President of the Austrian Equestrian Federation (OEPS), Max-Theurer was accused of improving the balance sheet and exposed to waste of money . Based on these allegations, the federal sports organization checked the correct use of public funds. The federal sports organization could not find any irregularities during the examination. The OEPS balance sheets are also prepared and checked by external, independent auditors. The complaint was withdrawn because there were no suspicions. The OEPS therefore initiated legal action against these allegations. On August 21, 2012, the Regional Court for Criminal Matters Vienna sentenced AHVV Verlags GmbH (periodical publication HEUTE ) for defamation (§ 6 MedienG) and violation of identity protection (§ 7a MedienG), to pay compensation and to publish the judgment (in HEUTE) sentenced.

Civil law proceedings against AHVV Verlags GmbH and the News publishing group as well as against the alleged initiators of the negative media campaign ended in settlement.
