Consultant of the provincial government ( Konsulent for short ) is an honorary title that is awarded by the provincial government in some Austrian provinces .

To receive it, the person concerned must have a minimum of ten years in a management function and no financial consideration in a cultural area like public education , home care , historic preservation , cultivation of music, sports nature, art preservation, science or culture in general care have operated. The Upper Austrian provincial government awards the title to an average of 20 people per year. The title is awarded after a proposal and a subsequent, detailed examination of the requirements. Information about previous activities and other special services is obtained, and statements from the mayors of the responsible political communities or the relevant professional associations are often obtained. The actual awarding of the title takes place during a ceremony that takes place around four times a year in the presence of the governor .
