Alfred Havlicek

Alfred Havlicek (born January 22, 1940 in Stockerau ; † January 9, 2018 in Linz ) was an Austrian pilot, photographer and author.

Life

Alfred Havlicek learned the profession of caster, then switched to the armed forces , where he completed his pilot training for helicopter drivers and as an operational pilot. He graduated from high school in 1964.

Through his job, he also came to aerial photography, which especially in helicopters shows conditions that are more difficult due to the vibrations and movements compared to aerial photos from fixed-wing aircraft.

He also won competitions with his photos. In Finland he won the first FIAP gold medal. In 1996 he became Austrian national champion.

Working as an operational pilot in the Central Alps from east to west and in all federal states gave Havlicek the opportunity to take photographs of the beauties and peculiarities of the landscapes, cities and places. For five years he was one of the world's 25 best exhibition photographers at photo exhibitions.

In 1976 he was also on a UN mission in Syria .

Alfred Havlicek married his wife Anna in 1961 and has a son and three grandchildren.
