Joseph Ramsauer

Joseph Ramsauer (born July 28, 1905 in Bad Ischl ; † February 4, 1976 there ) was an Austrian composer and music teacher .

Live and act

Ramsauer received violin lessons from his father as a child. After graduating from the teacher training college, he worked as a primary school teacher at various schools in the Salzkammergut . In addition, he devoted himself to the collection of folk songs and folk dance and gave music lessons. From 1930 he was a member of the Upper Austrian music teaching staff and was a music teacher at the music schools in Bad Ischl and Ebensee , and later also at the Bad Ischl secondary school.

From 1945 Ramsauer worked exclusively in the field of music. In addition to his work as a composer, he also ran his own private music school. In the 1950s he founded the Bad Ischl House Music Works, the Ebensee Music School and the Ebensee House Music Works, and managed these facilities. Ramsauer was the founder of the Ischler Heimatverein.
