Gerhard Pilz , called Bütz , (born July 3, 1942 in Perg ; † September 3, 2016 in Linz ), was an Austrian trader ( printer ), cultural worker , screenwriter and actor .

Life

Pilz completed an apprenticeship as a printer and typesetter in his father's print shop , took over the company after his retirement and continued to run it together with his wife and several employees until he retired. Through his professional and entrepreneurial activity, he came into contact with the culture and theater scene and continued his personal education in this area.

Pilz belonged to the Mühlviertel artists' guild from the beginning of the 1970s until 2001 and was a consultant for Upper Austria. State government in the field of culture, holder of the culture medal of the State of Upper Austria and custodian in the Heimathaus-Stadtmuseum Perg . In his regional surroundings he also worked as a musician and director . He was married to Heidelore Pilz and the father of Barbara , Ulla and Florian.

Screenwriter and actor

In 1966, as part of a script competition , he wrote a manuscript about the fate of a homecomer with the title Drum and Rose and received the prize money. The text later became the basis for the Austrian film contribution, which was nominated for submission to the Rose d'Or television entertainment festival .

Gerhard Pilz appeared in two supporting roles in front of the camera, in Walter Wippersberg ’s “ Das Fest des Huhnes ” (1992) and in Stefan Ruzowitzky 's film “ Die Siebtelbauern ” (1998).

Amateur theater and regional cultural activities

Gerhard Pilz (Bütz) was known to the regional public through his activities in the cultural field as a director , actor and musician and through his involvement in local associations (sometimes also in association functions). Regional events were given a special touch by the appearances of Gerhard Pilz (alone or together with friends from the Perg theater group).

Since 1965 there has been an amateur theater group in Perg, which is now called the Perg theater group and consists of the merger of the Perger theater youth around chaplain Johann Zauner and the group Perg 65, who u. a. Gerhard Pilz also belonged. Since then, the Catholic education center of the parish of Perg has provided the institutional framework . Gerhard Pilz was an actor at the Perger Puppenbühne . This was founded in 1973 by the members of the Perg theater group, Robert and Helga Wandl, and, under the direction of Gerald Kreuzer, performs puppet theater pieces for children in the Perger parish hall, in the Perger cultural armory and occasionally in neighboring towns.

Pilz worked in the Perg Heimat- und Museumverein, where his brother, Anton Baumann, acted as chairman. This activity included guided tours in the Heimathaus-Stadtmuseum Perg and its outposts in Ratgöbluckn , Scherer mill quarry and Steinbrecherhaus as well as city walks. For several years he was chairman of the association “Jugendzentrum Perg” and member of the board of the national association “Musemsland Donauland”, which was later renamed “Museumsland Donauland Strudengau”.
