The Saurüssel, Mühlviertler Landbote was an independent Mühlviertler magazine , which appeared quarterly with a circulation of approx. 1,000 copies. It was founded in 1984 and closed in 1993.

The Saurüssel area , from which the name is derived, is a mountain that has to be overcome when coming from Linz in order to get to the Upper Mühlviertel . The subtitle was deliberately based on the first socialist combat pamphlet, the Hessischer Landbote , founded by Georg Büchner in 1834, i.e. 150 years earlier , by Bernhard Heindl.

In Saurüssel appeared contributions to regional politics, regional history , women's emancipation , dreams , agriculture , nutrition and health , further philosophical - theological speculations, poems , barter exchanges , Interregional and information on environmental protection .

The publisher was VEROM , the editorial team was Brigitte Menne.
