The training in the course is based on an understanding of cultural work as the design of social and aesthetic processes. It prepares for culture-mediating and culture-producing fields of activity in the nonprofit and profit sector.

Cultural work is the design of social and aesthetic processes. It stands for professional cultural management of institutions and projects as well as cultural mediation on the basis of a broad cultural-scientific-theoretical as well as business-practical-practical knowledge.

Career opportunities arise both in the public cultural sector, with independent organizations, in the cultural industry and as a freelance entrepreneur. In particular, the following fields of work come into consideration: Management in cultural institutions and projects, marketing, public relations and project development.

At the Potsdam University of Applied Sciences, the eight-semester bachelor's degree in “Cultural Work” is offered as a full-time study.
