Franz Meingassner

Franz Meingaßner (* 1955 in Ried iI ), grew up in Tumeltsham , is an Austrian teacher, musician, composer, folk music researcher and dialect author.

Life

Franz Meingaßner graduated from the Pedagogical Academy of the Diösese in Linz, became a secondary school teacher at the Bruckner School in Ried iI. The versatile musician learned the clarinet, and later also dulcimer, guitar, bass violin and flugelhorn. He plays with numerous different folk music groups, such as the Auhäusler Musi , Bratl-in-der-Rein-3xaung , Saitenmusi and clarinet music.

Meingaßner is also active in folk music field research and has numerous largely forgotten folk music pieces, Gstanzln and tavern songs in Upper Austria. Written down pub song book and published music books.

As a member of the Stelzhamerbund he writes v. a. Gschichtn in Innviertel dialect and organizes the Mostkellergschichtn at Pauscher Lois in Meggenbach ( Weibern ).

Franz Meingaßner is married and has two grown daughters. He lives in Ried im Innkreis .
