Gottfried Gansinger

Gottfried Gansinger (* 1938 in Ried im Innkreis ) is an Austrian historian.

Gansinger worked as a bookseller. Most recently he was director of the book and paper shops of the Upper Austrian state publisher . After his retirement he trained as a certified homeland researcher and began to come to terms with the era of National Socialism in the Ried im Innkreis district .

Research on contemporary history

For 16 years he researched archives and conducted almost 200 interviews with contemporary witnesses. The result of his work was published in 2016 in the publication “National Socialism in the Ried im Innkreis district. Resistance and Persecution 1938–1945 ” .

Based on the conducted by Gansinger extensive research, the writer wrote Ludwig Laher the documentary novel Bitter war criminals NS on the Austrian Friedrich Kranebitter .
