Kurt Hasse (born February 7, 1907 in Mainz , † January 9, 1944 in the Soviet Union / Eastern Front ) was a German show jumper .

Kurt Hasse was born as the second son of General Ernst Hasse. Like his brothers, he was a cavalry officer. From 1930 to 1936 he was a member of the Hanover Cavalry School . At the 1936 Olympic Games in Berlin , he won the gold medal in show jumping on Tora in the individual and with Heinz Brandt in the team. In the jump-off in the final, he was able to distance the Romanian first lieutenant rank on Delfis , his only competitor for the gold medal, by more than 13 seconds.

Kurt Hasse comes from a well-known equestrian family.

His older brother Ernst was also a successful show jumper who won the German Jumping Derby in 1931, among other things .

His younger brother Werner was a successful amateur racing rider. In an unknown number of rides, he achieved 195 victories in the racing saddle and is thus on the list of immortals for German amateur racing riders.
