Jan Kowalczyk (born December 18, 1941 in Drogomysl , † February 24, 2020 in Warsaw ) was a Polish show jumper . He participated in the 1968 , 1972 and 1980 Olympic Games . His greatest achievement was winning the individual gold medal at the 1980 Moscow Games , boycotted by most Western nations .
