Tommaso Lequio di Assaba
Tommaso Lequio di Assaba (born October 21, 1893 in Cuneo , † December 17, 1965 in Rome ) was an Italian show jumper and officer .
With his horse Trebecco he won the gold medal in the individual ranking at the Olympic Games in Antwerp in 1920 . At the Olympic Games in Amsterdam in 1924 , he also won silver with Trebecco in singles. At the same time he won bronze in eventing on Torena together with the Italian team .
Lequio di Assaba was a cavalry officer . As such, he took part in colonial wars in Africa and in both world wars, most recently as commander of the Cavalleggeri di Lodi regiment in North Africa. In the post-war period he commanded the Ariete Armored Brigade . From 1960 until his death, General Tommaso Lequio di Assaba was President of the FISE (Federazione Italiana Sport Equestri).
