Jeroen Dubbeldam (born April 15, 1973 in Zwolle ) is a Dutch show jumper . After Hans Günter Winkler, Dubbeldam is the second show jumper ever to win an individual gold medal at the Olympic Games (2000), World Championships (2014) and European Championships (2015).

Career

Jeroen Dubbeldam celebrated his first major international individual success as a young rider when he won the individual ranking of the European Championships in his age group in 1994 with Killarney . He played his first international championship in the “rider” age group four years later at the World Equestrian Games in Rome. At the 2000 Summer Olympics in Sydney he was individual Olympic champion in show jumping on De Sjiem . At the World Equestrian Games in 2002 Dubbeldam was well placed with De Sjiem until the last jumping before the horse change, but made a riding mistake during this ride and thus clearly missed the final.

On Up and Down he was team world champion with the Dutch team at the 2006 World Equestrian Games in Aachen . At the 2011 World Cup finals , he finished third with Simon , whom he had to hand over to Beezie Madden a good six months later .

The 2014 World Equestrian Games were also highly successful for Dubbeldam : after winning team gold with Zenith as part of the Dutch team, he also prevailed in the individual finals by changing horses and became individual world champion. A year later he was able to win two gold medals again with Zenith : At the European Championships in 2015 , after he had already won the European Championship with the team, he was the only rider in all rounds of the individual evaluation without jumping faults. With that he was also certain of the individual European title.

At the 2016 Olympic Games he had no jumping faults with Zenith in the individual standings, but in the second lap he was two hundredths of a second too slow and received a time penalty for this. With that he missed the jump-off and with it the chance for a medal. He came in seventh place in both individual and team competitions.
