David Broome

David McPherson Broome , CBE (born March 1, 1940 in Cardiff ) is a former British show jumper .

Life

Broome took part in numerous championships and Olympic Games , where he won various medals. Among other things, he was individual and team world champion , three times individual and once team European champion . In 1960 he was voted Great Britain's Sportsman of the Year .

At the beginning of 2013 David Broome took over the presidency of the British Show Jumping Association .

David Broome has several siblings; his sister Liz Edgar was also active as a show jumper (including winner of the Grand Prix of Aachen in 1980 ). His son James is successful in driving two and four in hand .
