The All England Jumping Course at Hickstead is the most important outdoor show jumping course in England . It is in rural West Sussex near the town of Haywards Heath .

Hickstead was established by Douglas Bunn with the intention of creating a course that could rival those in the US and Europe . The course was opened in 1960 and today has space for 5,000 spectators.

Hickstead has since hosted several major tournaments. In 1965 the women's world championships and the men’s world championships in 1974, as well as several European championships, were held here. Annual events are the British Jumping Derby and the Royal International Horse Show , the latter being the United Kingdom's Nations Cup .

In 1993 a dressage arena and dressage program known as Dressage at Hickstead was introduced. In 1998 Hickstead hosted the European Junior Dressage Championships and in 2003 the European Dressage Championships. In 2009, Dressage at Hickstead was expanded to include a CDI 5 *, which is a competition of the World Dressage Masters .
