Peter Charles , MBE (born January 8, 1960 in Liverpool , North West England ) is a British show jumper .

In March 2013 he is number 144 in the world rankings.

Career

In 1992, he took the Irish to citizenship and thus rode in the Olympics in 1992 in Barcelona and 1996 in Atlanta for Ireland. In 2007, he took back British citizenship.

At the European Championships in 1995, when he rode for Ireland, he won individual gold and secured the Irish team the first gold medal in 30 years.

At the Olympic Games in London in 2012 , he won the gold medal with the British team, in the individual he was 65th.

Private

Charles is an amateur golfer and was on the podium at the 2009 Portuguese Pro / Am Championship alongside professional golfer David Howell and soccer player Stephen Penny.
