Jessica Rae Springsteen (born December 30, 1991 in Los Angeles , California ) is an American show jumper. In February 2020 she was in 48th place in the world rankings.

Life

She is the second child and only daughter of Bruce Springsteen and the singer Patti Scialfa . Her older brother Evan James Springsteen is a musician.

The family owns Stone Hill Farm in Colts Neck , New Jersey , among other properties . When Jessica and her brothers started school, the family moved from Los Angeles to New Jersey to keep the children safe from paparazzi .

In May 2015, Jessica Springsteen successfully completed her psychology studies at Duke University in Durham (North Carolina) .

Career

At the age of five, Springsteen came to ride through her mother and won the ASPCA Maclay Final in Syracuse (New York) at the age of 16 .

In 2008 she was a member of the victorious US team at the U18 North American Championships. In 2010 Springsteen was a member of the US junior national team at the Horses & Dreams horse show in Hagen am Teutoburg Forest . Two years later she had her first Nations Cup start in the senior riders age group: At the CSIO 5 * Gijón she was part of the US team with Vornado van den Hoendrik .

Shortly after the 2012 Olympic Games, her father bought her the team gold horse of the Briton Peter Charles , Vindicat W.

Springsteen trained with team Olympic champion Laura Kraut until May 2015 . Since then, she and her horses have been based at Jan Tops' facility in Valkenswaard, the Netherlands.
