Gregory Alan "Greg" Best (born July 23, 1964 in Lynchburg (Virginia) ) is an American show jumper and trainer who lives in Otane , New Zealand .

Career

In 1984 he won the North American Young Rider Championships. In 1985 he won the USET Talent Derby. In 1987 he won the Florida and Tampa Grand Prix , and team silver at the Pan American Games in Indianapolis . At the 1988 Olympic Games in Seoul , he won the silver medal both individually and with the team. Between 1987 and 2003 he won six world cup competitions. He broke his shoulder in a fall in 1992. After it healed, he moved to New Zealand . In 2004 he was the New Zealand coach at the Olympic Games in Athens .

He now works as a trainer in the USA, Canada and New Zealand.
