Montevideo was a Holstein horse that Uwe Sauer competed in international dressage tests for the Federal Republic of Germany between 1983 and 1992 .

Montevideo and Sauer took part in the European Championship in 1983 and won individual bronze. With the team they won the gold medal in 1983 and 1985. They took part in the 1984 Olympic Games in Los Angeles, where they won a gold medal with the team and finished 6th in the individual ranking. In 1984 and 1985 they were both silver medalists behind Reiner Klimke at the German dressage championships .
