Rabod from Kröcher

Rabod Wilhelm von Kröcher (born June 30, 1880 in Voigtsbrügge , Ostprignitz district , † December 25, 1945 in Groß Brunsrode , Helmstedt district ) was a German show jumper who took part in the 1912 Olympic Games in Stockholm .

Rabod von Kröcher first studied at the Ruprecht-Karls-Universität Heidelberg . In 1900 he became a member of the Corps Saxo-Borussia Heidelberg . Without a university degree he left university and embarked on a career as a cavalry officer. In 1910 he was a lieutenant in the cuirassier regiment "Emperor Nicholas I of Russia" (Brandenburg) No. 6 in Brandenburg. In 1912 he took part in the Olympic Games in Stockholm and won the silver medal in individual show jumping on his horse Dohna . He reached 186 points and lost against French Jean Cariou, who was tied for first place on Mignon, in the jump-off.

After the First World War he retired as a cavalry officer and took over the Vinzelberg manor , which his family had owned for many generations , and where he lived until he was expropriated in 1945.
