Hans Robert Schwarzenbach-Veillon (born May 24, 1913 in Horgen ; † September 18, 1993 in Zurich ) was a Swiss entrepreneur and equestrian .

Hans Schwarzenbach was the son of the Zurich silk industrialist Alfred Schwarzenbach and his wife Renée, née Wille . He was the youngest brother of the writer Annemarie Schwarzenbach . He attended grammar school in Zurich and studied law at the universities of Munich , London and Zurich and received his doctorate. He married Adrienne Veillon in 1938. He was a major in the Swiss Army .

In 1952 he won the Badminton Horse Trials on Vae Victis , in 1959 the European title in singles and at the 1960 Summer Olympics in Rome as a member of the Swiss team the silver medal in the military on Burn Trout .

Schwarzenbach was a partner in Robert Schwarzenbach & Co AG in Thalwil . He was a member of the board of directors of Schweizerische Kreditanstalt . From 1968 to 1970 he was Vice Chairman of the Board of Directors of JR Geigy AG and, after the merger, from 1970 to 1982 a member of the Board of Directors of Ciba-Geigy . In 1964 he was President of the Swiss Trade and Industry Association .
