Beat Mändli (born October 1, 1969 in Laufen-Uhwiesen , Canton of Zurich ) is a Swiss show jumper.
Career
Since his parents ran a riding and trading stable with around 50 horses, horses were part of his life from the start. However, when he fell from the pony at the age of ten during the lap of honor, he took a year and a half break from riding. After allowing himself to be persuaded to ride again, he won his first advanced (S) level test two years later.
At the Olympic Games in Sydney he won the silver medal on Pozitano with the Swiss team. At the beginning of 2014, the Swiss horse owner Paul Bücheler and Mändli ended their collaboration, Bücheler had made several horses available to Mändli. He then went to the United States, where he trained the show jumper Katherine Dinan , and the Dinan family provided him with several horses for competition.
In August 2013 he was 82nd in the show jumping world rankings.
Private
Beat Mändli is the youngest of five children. He is married and has a son.
