Thomas Fuchs (show jumper)

Thomas Fuchs (born January 10, 1957 in Zurich ) is a former Swiss show jumper .

Life

Fuchs grew up with his two years older brother Markus in Bietenholz , where his father set up a riding stable from the mid-1960s. He enjoyed great success with the mare Dollar Girl between 1981 and 1991 . With the Swiss team, he was European champion in 1983, vice-European champion in 1981 and third in 1989 and 1991 in each case. After Dollar Girl was sold by her owner in late 1991, the Belgian gelding Major was his top horse. Fuchs won two more European team championships in 1993 and 1995. At the 1994 World Equestrian Games , he won the bronze medal with the team. In terms of singles, he took seventh place at the 1988 Olympic Games in Seoul , fourth place in the 1992 World Cup final , numerous Grand Prix victories and three Swiss championships. Fuchs denied about 100 Nations Cups . His son Martin is also a successful show jumper.

Thomas Fuchs is married to the former show jumper and harness racing driver Renata Fuchs . He trades horses successfully.
