Paul Weier

Paul Weier (born December 3, 1934 in Elgg , Canton of Zurich ) is a former Swiss show jumper . He became a six-time Swiss champion in show jumping. In 1959 he won this title with Japhet, 1961 with Aberdeen and 1964 he won with Satan III. From 1967 to 1969 he was Swiss champion three times in a row. 1967 again with Satan III, 1968 with Junker and 1969 he defended this title with wildfire.

Weier took part in four Summer Olympics. In 1960 he started in Rome with Centurion in the individual competition. In 1964 he took part in Tokyo with Satan III in individual and team competitions. In 1968 he reached 6th place with the team on wildfire in Mexico. Four years later in Munich he reached 5th place on Wulf with the Swiss team. He starts for the association Elgger Horse Friends VEP Elgg , Canton Zurich .

His wife Monica Bachmann-Weier also took part in the Summer Olympics as a show jumper .
