Cassini I (* 1988; † November 16, 2014) was a Holstein gray stallion who was one of the best and most influential stallions of the Holstein breed. He was one of the world's gefragtesten jumping stallions and finished in the FN - genetic evaluation (jumping) of 2009 ranked sixth. Cassini is descended from Capitol I, his dam's sire is Caletto II.

Cassini I in sport

In 1997 he won the Nations Cup in Helsinki under Bo Kristoffersen with the Danish team and took part in the European Championship in Mannheim . Shortly afterwards the stallion switched to Franke Sloothaak . Together they won the Arnhem and Modena Grand Prix . The couple were winners in international jumping and successful in Nations Cups and World Cup jumping. The sporting successes resulted in a lifetime winnings of DM 296,950 (as of 2001).

Cassini I as a sire

His offspring are successful in jumping competitions at the highest level worldwide. Among other things, Cassini I is the father of the Olympic horses Isovlas Olympic ( Steve Guerdat ) and Cavalor Cumano ( Jos Lansink ), who also became world champion in Aachen in 2006 and won the world's most valuable show jumping competition in Calgary in 2004. Carlsson vom Dach won gold with the US team under Will Simpson at the 2008 Olympic Games in Hong Kong . Eurocommerce Berlin , himself a sire under the name Casper , and father of the young hopeful Eurocommerce Zurich , was second in the Nations Cup in Aachen under Gerco Schröder . With his son Cassilano he presented a champion stallion at the Holstein licensing for the first time in 2009. Other internationally successful offspring are Cheers Cassini ( Richard Davenport ), Camiro ( Tony André Hansen ), Ingmar ( Pia-Luise Aufrecht ), Casandra ( Marcus Ehning ), Inken ( Peter Wylde ), Carino ( Ulrich Kirchhoff ), Chatwin ( Álvaro Affonso de Miranda Neto ), Verelst Curtis ( Daniel Deußer ) and Cocu ( Molly Ashe ).

His offspring together achieve a total lifetime winnings of more than three million euros (as of 2014). Over 50 licensed sons by Cassini are also active in breeding so far.
