Caletto II (* 1978 , † 1984 ) was a Holstein breeding stallion .

Caletto's father was the Holstein stallion of the century Cor de la Bryère , his mother Deka is one of the most successful broodmares in Holstein breeding. He is the younger full brother of Caletto I .

Career

Caletto II was licensed in Neumünster in 1980 and passed his stallion performance test in Adelheidsdorf in 1981 . Here he was the champion stallion of his year. After only four years of breeding, Caletto II died in 1984 in a tragic accident in which he broke his neck.

Despite the short lifespan, he had several successful offspring and can still be found today through his son Caretino and his grandsons Cassini I and Cassini II in the lineage of many of today's warmblood horses. He is also considered to be the most important son of the Cor de la Bryère. The Holsteiner Verband describes him as legendary and a stallion who embodied the breeding goal of Holstein horse breeding in an almost ideal way.
