The Swiss Women's Run is a running event in Bern ( Switzerland ) that has been taking place since 1987 and is organized by former Swiss top runner Markus Ryffel . It is only open to women. The 5 km main run, part of the Post Cup from 2005 to 2010 , also attracts elite runners with prize money. In 2016, the highest turnout was achieved with 15,097 participants ( finishers ).

Since 2005 there has also been a 10 km route. There is also a 15 km route for walking and Nordic walking . In 2009 the Girls Sprint was introduced, a 500 meter sprint course for 5- to 7-year-olds; In 2010 the Girls Mile (1.6 km) for 8 to 11 year olds was added.

The women's run has been running through downtown Bern since 2005 , after having previously taken place in Neufeld . The start is at the confluence of the Bundesgasse and Monbijoustrasse. It leads over the Monbijoubrücke into Kirchenfeld and from there over the Kirchenfeldbrücke to the destination on Bundesplatz . The 10 km runners completed the lap twice with small variations until 2015; In 2016, the 5 km route with an additional loop was run through the Dählhölzli zoo for the first time .

In June 2018, 27-year-old Fabienne Schlumpf won the race for the second time in a row.
