Freimut Friedrich Burkart Stein (born June 16, 1924 in Nuremberg ; † September 15, 1986 in Munich ) was a German figure skater and roller skater .

Life

Freimut Stein was German figure skating champion in the men's individual run from 1952 to 1954. He represented 1. FC Nuremberg, section roller and ice sports. From 1951 to 1953 he took part in European championships . After finishing fifth and sixth, it was enough to win the bronze medal behind Alain Giletti and Carlo Fassi in Dortmund in 1953 . Stein also played two world championships . In 1951 and 1953 he was tenth respectively. He finished eighth at the 1952 Olympic Games in Oslo .

Freimut Stein was German men's roller-skating champion from 1950 to 1954 and also world champion and European champion from 1951 to 1954. In 1954 he received the silver laurel leaf and after winning the European championship in roller figure skating ended his active athletic career, but was later a figure skating judge for another 10 years.

psychology

After 1954 he completed his psychology studies and did his doctorate at the University of Würzburg under Wilhelm Karl Arnold . He opened a psychological practice with a focus on marriage and life counseling in Nuremberg and later in Munich. Freimut Stein was also a co-founder of Lebenshilfe in Nuremberg, where he set up an institute and a school for the disabled. He later worked as a public service psychologist in Munich. As a part-time job, he gave lectures for various professional groups on psychological topics.
