Paul Franke (figure skater)
Paul Franke (* 1888 ; † 1950 ) was a German figure skater who started in a single run .
Franke and Werner Rittberger were among the best German figure skaters in the 1920s . In 1920, 1921 and 1923 to 1926 he was runner-up behind him at the German championships . In 1927 and 1929 Franke became German champions. He took part in European championships four times , in 1924 , 1925 and 1929 he was sixth and in 1927 fifth. Franke played three world championships . In 1926 he finished ninth and in 1928 eighth place, in 1927 he withdrew. At his only Olympic Games in 1928 in St. Moritz, he was twelfth. Franke started for the Berlin ice skating club.
