Nena Daconte

Nena Daconte is a Spanish formation founded in 2006 , initially consisting of the Madrid- born singer Mai Meneses and the Barcelona- born musician Kim Fanlo. The name Nena Daconte is taken from the story The Trail of Your Blood in the Snow by Gabriel García Márquez .

Her songs mix classic pop with rock and are about love, loneliness and the search for ideals.

history

Mai Meneses took part in the popular Spanish television show Operación Triunfo . There she also met Kim Fanlo, who accompanied the participants of the second season of Operación Triunfo as a musician. After a few concerts, they decided to found “Nena Daconte” together. After recording their first album, Universal got in touch with them and they released the album on March 27, 2006 under the name "He perdido los zapatos". They also added a remix by Carlos Jean . The first single "Idiota" was played on many Spanish radio stations. In addition, they produced a video of this piece as well as of "Idiota - Remix". The title "En qué estrella estará" was chosen as the official song for the 2006 Vuelta Ciclista a España .

They were nominated for the MTV EMA 2006 award in the Spanish Act category.
