The Turn- und Sportverein Farchant eV , TSV Farchant for short , is a sports club in Farchant in the Garmisch-Partenkirchen district in Upper Bavaria . The association was founded on March 22, 1949. At that time, 60 men, ten women, 14 young people and two schoolchildren signed up for the association's membership list. Yellow and black were set as the club's colors. The first departments were mountain sports , summer sports , athletics , water sports , table tennis and ice sports . The association now consists of over 1200 members in six departments.

The club gained national fame in 1978, when the team of the ice hockey department became Bavarian champions . In the years 1978-1981 the TSV played in the ice hockey regional league , the then fourth highest league in German ice hockey.

Departments

The TSV Farchant consists of the following departments:

• The football department founded in 1954 with two men's teams and one senior team. The first team plays in the A-class in the Zugspitze district of the BFV .
• The youth football department with over 200 children and young people in teams of all ages as well as two girls' and one women's team.
• The gymnastics department offers mother-child gymnastics, pre-school gymnastics, girls 'gymnastics, endurance training , ladies' gymnastics, senior gymnastics and spinal gymnastics, as well as water aerobics, Nordic walking , a running club and preparation for the sports badge .
• Sports bowling department
• Ice stock department (deregistered as of December 31, 2017)
• Ski department

ice Hockey

The team of the ice hockey department of the TSV met in the 1977/78 season in the final for the championship in the Bayern League on the ERC Ingolstadt . TSV Farchant won this game in Ingolstadt in front of over 5000 spectators 7: 3 and was promoted to the Regionalliga-Süd. The first season 1978/79 in the fourth-highest division in Germany could be finished eighth. The following 1979/80 season ended in 7th place. In the 1980/81 season , however, they only reached last place with only one draw and 11 defeats.

The games in the Bayernliga and the Regionalliga had to be played on artificial ice . Since Farchant only had a natural ice surface, the club held its games in the Olympic Ice Sports Center in Garmisch-Partenkirchen . Since the financial burdens were too high, the team was announced after relegation in 1981 and the department was dissolved. The successful ice hockey sport in Farchant was history for the time being.

On September 17, 2012, the board of directors of the association approved the re-establishment of the department. The Froschlachn 'Hackler team, which has been participating in the Werdenfelser Hobbyliga (WHL) , which has been organized as a hobby since 2009/10 , has played under the umbrella of the department since then.

For the 2015/16 season, TSV Farchant registered a team for the sixth-class district league and is thus back in the official game. This was largely the 1b team of SC Riessersee, who had been relegated from the regional league last year . The SCR no longer wanted to report the team under its direction. The newly formed team succeeded in winning the district league group 3 and thus promotion to the regional league in the first season.
