The SC Gaißach is a sports club from the Upper Bavarian Gaißach in the Bad Tölz-Wolfratshausen district and consists of the departments Aikido, ice hockey, soccer, handball, skiing, athletics, target shooting and curling. The club was founded in 1967 with a ski and ice sports department as "Ski Club Gaißach eV". The SC men's ice hockey team played in Germany's fourth-highest division from 1978 to 1983.

history

The club was founded in 1949 as a ski club (Wenk) without an e. V. Registration established. Official founding year of the “Ski Club Gaißach e. V. ”started in 1967 with a ski and ice sports department. In the later years the departments soccer (1968), handball women (1973), handball men (1984), tobogganing (1975), athletics (1975), target shooting (1967), stick shooting (1973) and aikido were added. On February 18, 2002, the tobogganing department and in 1995 the men's handball department were dissolved by a resolution of the delegates' assembly.

The ice sports department was founded in 1964 and when “SC Gaißach e. V. ”as an existing department. The SCG ice hockey team began to play in the Bavarian Ice Sports Association ( BEV ) in 1971 . In 1974 the Gaißachers were promoted to the Bavarian State League , in 1975 the Bavarian League and in 1978 in the Regionalliga , in which they were able to hold out until 1983. In the period from 1984/85 to 1986/87, when they belonged to the Bavarian Natural Ice League, the Bavarian Natural Ice Championship was won in 1986 . From 1987 they belonged to the Bavarian State League until the 1993/94 season. From 2001 to the Gaißacher Eishackler played in the Bavarian district league and could in 2008 the Bavarian District League Championship and in 2010 the Bavarian District Championship win South. In 2014, the SC ice hockey team had to be withdrawn from the BEV's game operations as it became increasingly difficult to provide a team due to a lack of players.

Today the ice hockey hobby team of the ice sports department takes part in various hobby tournaments.

Ice rink

The natural ice stadium in Gaißach was completed in 1966 and could accommodate up to 500 spectators at top games. If the weather conditions made it impossible to play in the natural ice stadium, the games of the Gaißach ice hockey team were played in the Bad Tölzer ice stadium.
