Stage in the vault

The Hoffmannkeller is a vaulted cellar from the 18th century that is used by the Augsburg Theater for various projects and events.

Basement foyer

It is located under the management building of the city theater and for many years served a wine shop as a barrel and bottle warehouse. Later it was used by the theater as a fund . In 2003 it was converted into a rehearsal and performance stage for the youth theater clubs at the Augsburg Theater. First was Crash Kids ( Taken without Consent ) by Marcus Romer listed in April 2003, after the piece on April 5, 2003 at the spectacle-rehearsal stage had its premiere.

It is now regularly used as a venue (with a maximum of 99 seats) for other performances. The longest bar in Augsburg is located in the foyer of the basement - jazz sessions take place here regularly.

The name arose from the use of the cellar by the Hofmann wine store, which however became the Hoffmann cellar after it was converted into a venue - according to ETA Hoffmann .
