Chamber Opera Augsburg

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The Augsburg Chamber Opera is a free ensemble in Augsburg .

history

The Augsburg Chamber Opera was founded in 2008. It uses a large part of its profits for social, cultural or even medical purposes. In addition, the chamber opera seeks cooperation with other Augsburg universities and initiatives and wants to attract new audiences with ideas for performance locations and scenic implementation. Young artists or musicians should be given the opportunity to practice performance. Also Per Bach Nissen , Kerstin Descher , Roman Payer and Christian Tschelebiew appeared in productions with the chamber opera. The non-profit association "Kammeroper Augsburg eV" has taken over the sponsorship .

The chamber opera does not have its own venue. Therefore, the performances take place in different locations in Augsburg and the surrounding area; so in the Botanical Garden , in the Barbara Hall of the A. B. von Stetten Institute or in the Augustana Hall at St. Anna's Church ; partly also in sacred buildings .

Productions

One focus of the productions is the performance of children's operas . Together with teachers, a version of well-known opera that children can understand is reworked. Furthermore, attempts are being made to complement Augsburg's cultural life in the field of music theater, for example in a co-production with the St. Anna high school in 2016, Carl Maria von Weber's Freischütz was performed for the first time in four decades .
