Roman Payer (* 1979 in Vienna ) is an Austrian opera, operetta, lied and concert singer with a tenor voice .

Life

Roman Payer became a member and later soprano soloist of the Vienna Boys' Choir at the age of eight . He studied singing at the Vienna Conservatory . His teachers Helga Wagner and Lucia Meschwitz were there . He graduated with honors. Engagements followed a. at the Ludwigsburg Palace Festival , Bad Hall Operetta Festival , Theater an der Sihl in Zurich , Children's Opera of the Vienna State Opera , Schönbrunn Palace Theater , Haydn Festival Eisenstadt .

From 2007 to 2010 the artist was a permanent member of the ensemble at Theater Augsburg . He has been with the Landestheater Coburg since the 2010/2011 season .

His repertoire of roles includes: Tamino and Monostatos ( Die Zauberflöte ), Jaquino ( Fidelio ), Goro ( Madama Butterfly ), Podesta ( The gardener out of love ), Pang ( Turandot ), Baron ( The Wildschütz ), Guglielmo ( Viva la Mamma ), Vinzenc ( The happy farmer ), Stanislaus ( the bird dealer ), Dr. Settlers ( In the White Horse Inn ) and much more

In addition to his stage presence, Roman Payer is engaged as a concert and lied singer. His repertoire includes compositions by Georg Friedrich Händel , Joseph Haydn , Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart , Anton Bruckner and Felix Mendelssohn Bartholdy , among others .
