The Sensemble Theater is a theater in Augsburg . Its original spelling is S'ensemble Theater . The theater has been using the spelling without the apostrophe since the 2011/2012 season . The clubs have also partially adopted this changed spelling.
The theater is supported by the non-profit association Sensemble Theater eV . There is also the non-profit circle of friends of the Sensemble Theater eV , which also supports the theater.
The Sensemble Theater has been run as a non-profit company since 2016 .
history
In 1996 the association was founded with freelance actors , directors , playwrights , mask , costume and stage designers , as well as friends from law, business and humanities. The purpose of the association is to promote the artistic creativity of people and to find appropriate forms of representation and exchange. This should happen in the field of experimental theater , training and further education as well as social cultural work. In particular, public theater performances as well as seminars and workshops are carried out. The first board member of the association is the playwright, director and author Sebastian Seidel .
The Sensemble Theater has been playing on the small Augsburg open-air stage in the medieval city wall of the Jakoberwallturm since 1998 . The inner courtyard was rebuilt by the "Historischen Bürgergilde Augsburg" and provided with rising spectator stands. The result was a small open-air theater in downtown Augsburg, which the Sensemble plays from June to August. Furthermore, the Sensemble Theater has been organizing the "Theater Festival in the martini-Park" since 2009 and shows international theater sports competitions, such as B. 2011 the "Theater Sports Mini World Cup" with teams from Russia, Italy and Germany. Since the year 2000 the stage has had its own venue in the culture factory in Augsburg. The Sensemble Theater awards the Augsburg Dramatist Prize in cooperation with other cultural institutions .
The pieces of the Sensemble Theater range from spoken , music , improvisational and expressive theater to performance and installation .
