Stefanie Schlesinger
Stefanie Schlesinger (born February 12, 1977 in Bamberg ) is a German jazz singer and songwriter .
Live and act
Schlesinger first received recorder lessons, then piano lessons from the age of 9. My first singing lessons followed at the age of 12. She graduated from ETA Hoffmann-Gymnasium Bamberg with a major in singing; thereafter, up to the diploma in 2002, classical singing studies at the Leopold-Mozart Conservatory in Augsburg followed. She then appeared in musical and opera productions and premiered contemporary works before turning to jazz singing. She led her own combo and worked with musicians such as Pete York , Daniel Messina , Klaus Doldinger , Herb Geller and Christian Bruhn .
Since 2005, also due to a baby break, Schlesinger turned increasingly to composition and set poems by Rainer Maria Rilke and Friedrich Schiller to music, but also wrote music for children. Furthermore, arrangements were made for their own projects. Together with her husband, Wolfgang Lackerschmid , she wrote the music for the musiclets “Ma très chère cousine!” And “Now he's dead, the dog”, which she performed as an actress in Augsburg in 2010 and 2011 with good reviews.
Prizes and awards
In 2003 she was the first female singer to receive the Bavarian Art Prize in the jazz category .
