Per Bach Nissen (born April 29, 1967 in Vejle , Denmark ) is a Danish opera, operetta, lied and concert singer with a bass voice .

Life

Born in Vejle and raised in Tønder and Aasiaat, Per studied with Susanna Eken in Copenhagen and Robert Lloyd in London. He graduated from the Royal Welsh College of Music in Cardiff and was then a scholarship holder at Trinity College of Music . And then was a member of the Opera Studio at La Monnaie Opera House in Brussels . There were also studies with Josef Loibl.

He took part in master classes by Philip Langridge , Carlo Rizzi , Roger Vignoles , Malcolm Martineau and Kammersänger Harald Stamm . He made his debut as Zuniga in Carmen at the Linbury Studio of the Royal Opera House Covent Garden in London and made guest appearances with the Pegasus Opera Company, and the British Youth Opera in Great Britain a. a. at the Royal Theater Bath, Westminster Central Hall and the Royal Albert Hall .

2013 followed appearances at Michigan Opera, Detroit as Rocco, and concert performances of Richard Wagner's Ring des Nibelungen in Copenhagen as Hagen.

In 2014/15 he made his debut at the Royal Copenhagen Opera and at the Malmö Opera, as Jeronimus in Masquerade ( Carl Nielsen ), König in Aida and Sacristano in Tosca .

In 2015/16 Nissen made his debut at the Frankfurt Opera as Fafner in Rheingold and Siegfried , as Gremin in Eugene Onegin at the Komische Oper, as Police Chief in Lady Macbeth von Mtsensk at the English National Opera in London, and as Giorgio in Bellini's I Puritani at the Danish National Opera in Aarhus. In 2017/18 he made his debut at the Bregenz Festival as Cardinal Camillo in Beatrice Cenci , as well as Zuniga in Carmen at the Danish National Opera, Don Magnifico in Cenerentola at the Opera Østfold, Norway. In 2019 he made his debut at the Müpa Wagner Festival in Budapest as Fasolt in Rheingold and made guest appearances as Dr. Bartolo in Il barbiere di Siviglia on the Kgl. Danish Opera, Copenhagen.
