Malcolm Martineau
Malcolm Martineau (born February 3, 1960 in Edinburgh ) is a Scottish pianist who works primarily as a song accompanist .
Martineau studied at St. Catharine's College in Cambridge and at the Royal College of Music in London .
As a lied accompanist, he has given concerts in London at the Barbican Center , the Queen Elizabeth Hall and the Royal Opera House Covent Garden . Further appearances have taken him to the Scala in Milan , the Théâtre du Châtelet in Paris, the Teatro Liceu Barcelona, the Philharmonie and the Konzerthaus am Gendarmenmarkt in Berlin , the Musikverein and Konzerthaus in Vienna , the Concertgebouw Amsterdam , the Alice Tully Hall and Carnegie Hall in New York , the Sydney Opera House and festivals in Aix en Provence , Edinburgh and Salzburg .
Among the singers Martineau has worked with are Sir Thomas Allen , Dame Janet Baker , Olaf Bär , Florian Boesch , Barbara Bonney , Ian Bostridge , Susan Bullock , Lucy Crowe , Mojca Erdmann , Bernarda Fink , Elīna Garanča , Angela Gheorghiu , Susan Graham , Thomas Hampson , Della Jones , Christiane Karg , Simon Keenlyside , Angelika Kirchschlager , Magdalena Kožená , Solveig Kringelborn , Dame Felicity Lott , Christopher Maltman , Karita Mattila , Lisa Milne , Ann Murray , Hanno Müller-Brachmann , Anna Netrebko , Anne Sofie von Otter , Miah Persson , Dorothea Röschmann , Kate Royal , Michael Schade , Anne Schwanewilms , Frederica von Stade , Bryn Terfel and Sarah Walker .
